Recommending books based on the Jonas Brothers Happiness Begins album

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! I’ve been thinking about writing this post for a while and I decided to take the plunge. We’re in the midst of quarantine so I figured why not? I rarely do recommendation posts and I’ve been feeling more creative. If you couldn’t tell by the title, I’m going to be recommending a book for every song on the Jonas Brothers 2019 album, “Happiness Begins.”

As soon as I started searching for something similar, I saw a booktuber, Gabby from Gabby Reads did the same thing but with Taylor Swift. I also have another post coming up that’s inspired by Gabby who I don’t follow but we must share a brain or something lol. Either way, I wanted to give her credit as she came up with the idea so let’s get into the songs and the books I’d pair with them.

Track 1: Sucker

Kicking off the list is none other than their first single since reuniting, “Sucker.” If you haven’t heard this song, you’ve been living under a rock. Either way, this is obviously a song about being in love with someone and also realizing the challenges that come with it. The lyrics I really focused on was: “You’re the medicine and the pain. The tattoo inside my brain and baby, you know it’s obvious. I’m a sucker for you.”

The book I chose for “Sucker” is Get A Life, Chloe Brown. It’s clear while reading the book that Red is a sucker for Chloe. He doesn’t care about how much they might disagree or how things go, he’s still going to be there. As soon as I thought of Sucker, this was the first book to pop into my mind. While Chloe would pretend to hate it, I think she’d enjoy hearing Red sing along to the Jonas Brothers.

Track 2: Cool

Cool is one of the more upbeat and fun songs on this album. When I think of “Cool,” I think of having fun and spending a summer day, doing whatever I wanted. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s a chill and fun song. Personally, I’d associate it with a book that doesn’t take it too seriously and is a lot of fun to read.

That’s why I decided on the Giant Days series. Giant Days follows a group of friends in college and it’s basically their misadventures. It doesn’t have much of a plot but is still a lot of fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Oddly enough, I didn’t love “Cool” when it first came out and I didn’t love volume 1 but have loved the others. This is a surprisingly solid pick.

Track 3: Only Human

“Only Human” is one of their more “sexy” songs. It has a pretty sexy beat and is generally known for being a more sensual song than their previous releases. Personally, I really get DNCE vibes from it. With that being said, I knew I wanted to go with a more mature romance and one that isn’t afraid to have fun while still being sexy.

39555142. sy475

The book I chose to pair with “Only Human” is Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas which is a romance between a girl and her boyfriend’s dad. It’s more taboo but I think it fits well with the lyrics of the song. Pike and Jordan shouldn’t be attracted to each other but they can’t help it and their chemistry is off the charts. As for the lyrics I’m referring to, “It’s only human. You know that it’s real, so why would you fight or try to deny the way that you feel?” That’s pretty much exactly how I’d describe Pike and Jordan’s relationship.

Track 4: “I Believe”

The next song up is “I Believe” which is another love song. I’m pretty sure this song is based on Nick and Priyanka’s relationship. It has a slightly dreamy feel due to its lyrics and the beat of the song. Basically, it’s all about being in a relationship and the benefits that come with having a great partner.

The book I chose to go with this one is A Prince on Paper by Alyssa Cole which is the final book in the Reluctant Royals series. This book follows Nya and Johan’s relationship which starts off fake before things start to change for both of them. Personally, I think this song would be something Johan would think about Nya. Johan fell in love with Nya and she was it for him which I loved. For the lyrics that jump to me, it has to be, “You show me something I can’t live without. I believe when you hold me, it’s like heaven coming down.” If you haven’t picked this book yet and you like “I Believe,” this could be the one for you.

Track 5: “Used To Be”

Let me start off by saying “Used To Be” is my favorite song from this album. I’ve listened to this song on repeat for hours and never gotten sick of it. Something about how the boys sounded combined with the lyrics makes me happy. If you haven’t heard it, it’s basically a “break-up” song, reflecting back on a relationship and how the person still comes back to you even if you’re not together.

41746595. sy475

For that reason, I chose Block Shot by Kennedy Ryan which is a second-chance romance between Jared and Banner. Personally, I think this song is emotional and this book is pretty emotional. This book deals with a lot more serious topics than the story but I really enjoy both. The lyrics that stand out to me are: “Lately I don’t even know ya. Too many devils on your shoulder. Oh my god, baby if it’s what you want. I just wanna see you happy.” This song just gets me every time.

Track 6: Every Single Time

This is not one of my favorites from the album but I do enjoy it once in a while. This song is about an on-again, off-again relationship between two people. It’s basically how they can’t stay with each other but can’t stay away from each other. As for a book, this is where it gets tricky.

43189874. sy475

You might be wondering why I chose this book as it has such a cute cover. Personally, I think this song fits well with Emily and Simon’s relationship. In the renaissance world, they get along but in real life, they can’t stand each other. Eventually, they’re able to let their worlds collide but until then, it’s a lot of back-and-forths. This was a tough one so I’m going out on a limb with this pick. Lol

Track 7: “Don’t Throw It Away”

This is another song that I really love. It’s basically about a couple possibly breaking up and one partner telling the other to give it time and think about it before making any rash decisions. I don’t know if it’s because of the beat but I really love this song. It’s another tough one as these are more about couples who are in the midst of possibly breaking up so it’s tough. Either way, I think I found a decent recommendation.

The book I chose for this song is Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward which follows two pen-pals. They have a falling-out and eventually, come back to each other but not without some hesitation. In a lot of ways, their relationship has a lot of moments that connect to this song. As for the lyrics, the one I relate to this book are: “Don’t save the words ’til it’s too late. I know it hurts and that’s okay.” Considering it mostly follows letters, these lyrics are perfect.

Track 8: “Love Her”

This is another song I feel kind of meh about. While I think it’s cute, it doesn’t do anything for me. With that being said, it’s basically about being head-over-heels in love with someone and how no matter what you two go through, you’ll always love that person. It’s obviously written for their wives but not one of my favorites. Lol

I wanted to go with a cute romance and the one that seemed to fit with this song to me is Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating. This is a friends-to-lovers romance between Josh and Hazel who set each other up on dates but always end up going home together. Even though the book had a trope I hated, I really enjoyed their relationship. Josh loved Hazel and all of her quirks which most guys would be annoyed with. “Love Her” is such a cute and fluffy song which fits the tone of this book nicely.

Track 9: “Happy When I’m Sad”

This is a song that not a lot of Jonas fans like and I don’t blame them. This song seems like a odd pick especially if you’re listening to this album in order. It’s basically about people thinking you’re happy when you’re actually sad. It’s kind of a depressing song so it was hard to find a book with the same tone.

40597810. sy475

In a lot of ways, this song is about putting on a performance and what better book to chose than Daisy Jones & The Six? This book follows a band who are putting on performances for their fans but also performing in their own lives. If you’ve read this book, then you know what I’m talking about. While I struggled at first, I think that Daisy Jones & The Six is the perfect book to pair with this song.

Track 10: “Trust”

This is another song I haven’t loved as much as everyone else. Either way, it’s a song about being with someone and not trusting yourself to make good decisions while you’re around that person. While not necessarily a toxic relationship, it’s more like a person being irrestiable to you. At least, that’s how I interpret it. Lol

38316557. sy475

No way I couldn’t feature this book as that’s basically the entire theme of this book if you’ve read it. This is a companion book to Let’s Get Textual and it follow the best friend of the MC and her ex hooking up basically. While the two try to fight it as much as they can, they’re hopelessly attracted to each other. I’m pretty sure that Zoe says something about not trusting herself around Caleb at some point. As for the lyrics, the ones that stood out to me for this one were, “I know that I’m better off without you, But I know that I could never live without you.”

Track 11: “Strangers”

Ugh this song is an absolute bop. It’s all about meeting someone and immediately feeling a connection to them. Even though you might not know each other yet, you feel like something’s there. This is something a lot of romance books employ so it’s going to be tough to pick just one.

28526138. sy475

The book I chose for “Strangers” is Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones which is the first book in the Wright Brothers series. This follows a hate-to-love romance between Reese and Jason who are immediately attracted to each other physically but can’t stand each other at first. Eventually, they warm to each other but they have such a kinship that it feels like they’ve met before. Their banter is just top-notch so hopefully you feel like this song fits with this book, too. 😛

Track 12: “Hesitate”

For those who don’t know, this is what Joe calls his vows before his vows. Basically, it’s a song he wrote for Sophie. He always says how he thinks of Sophie for half the song and it’s basically a love letter to her. It’s about not hesitating to be there for your partner and working through things together. Incredibly romantic if you think about it.

36199084. sy475

I’m not sure why this book didn’t come to mind immediately. The relationship in The Kiss Quotient reminds me so much of this song. In a lot of ways, Michael doesn’t hesitate when it comes to Stella and what she can handle. He isn’t afraid of the hurdles they have to go through or how unconvential their relationship is. While Stella might hesitate sometimes, Michael is there to hold her hand and assure her everything’s alright. I can imagine Michael’s vows to Stella would be similar to this song.

Track 13: “Rollercoaster”

This song has become the “unofficial” anthem for their comeback. It’s basically talking about their journey and where they are now. While I don’t really have a book that chronicles that, I do have a book that focuses on friendships and how loving a band can bring people together so let’s get into it.

Is anyone shocked by this pick?? I’ve been waiting to use this book since I started my post and I found the perfect place. If you don’t know, this book follows multiple different plotlines including one in which Claudia and Iris become unexpected friends after bonding over their shared love for a band. While I don’t have very many friends in the Jonas fandom, the ones I have, I treasure dearly. This book does a great job of illustrating fandom, the friendships you make and what being a fangirl is like.

Track 14: “Comeback”

Finally, we’ve made it to the last song and what a wild ride it’s been. This is another love song which is obviously the majority of this album. It’s about a couple and how no matter what happens, they’ll always come back to each other. It’s a sweet sentiment and once again, another perfect song to pair with a romance book. Lol

40719305. sy475

The book I chose is actually one that’s second in the series but I think you’d be fine if you didn’t read the first book. This one is a second-chance romance between a couple who met in high school, things fell apart and they reconnect. In a lot of ways, I think these two remind of this song as they found their way back to each other and kept coming back to each other.

This felt like the toughest and longest post I’ve ever done. Not actually true, but it’s hard to try to connect some of these songs to books. Hopefully I did a decent job though as it wasn’t easy. Either way, I’m happy I did this post as I’ve been thinking about it for a while. I might try to branch out to other Jonas Brothers’ albums but we’ll see how this post goes. 😛

My Top 5 #HappinessBegins Tour Fan Requests

Hello friends and fellow Jonas Brothers lovers. If you didn’t know, my Jonas Brothers concert is tomorrow and I AM HYPED. Even though I’m writing this post early, I’m still in that mindset. When I started writing up my schedule for this month, I knew that I had to put up a post before the concert. Thankfully, I had a lot of ideas and things I wanted to talk about.

However, for my post before the concert, I wanted to do something unique. If you’re not a Jonas Brothers fan, you might not understand the title. I am here to be your guide if you’re unfamiliar. In the middle of every show, the brothers do a “fan request” which I believe is where fans yell out a song and they decide to sing it. That’s the basic gist but I’ve heard conflicting stories.

Either way, it’s basically where they sing a song that’s not on the setlist. It’s basically their chance to give the fans what they want and make the show more interactive. For my post, I decided to feature the top 5 songs I’d like for them to sing as a fan request. I’d like to give a small disclaimer and say that I’m writing this post early so if they sing them, it’s my bad. Lol but let’s go!

5. Games

Unsurprisingly, I already sent this list to a friend so I already had it planned out. Coming in at #5 is Games, a song from the Jonas Brothers self-titled album. As far as songs go on the album, this one is severely underrated. I know that a lot of fans say that it’s nostalgia glasses, but I really do think that this album is one of their best.

I think Games does a great job of showcasing Joe and Nick’s voices along with doing some different things with the beats and pitches. Hopefully, I know what I’m talking about. Lmao, either way, I’d like to see a 2019 take on this song.

4. 6 Minutes

When I’m posting this, the boys have only sung one song from It’s About Time, their debut album. This album is incredibly rare and is one that fans will hunt for because they want their very own copy. Thankfully, you can now buy the entire album on iTunes so everyone can own it in a way.

One of my favorite songs from the album is 6 Minutes and this is a case of it not being an actual song written by the Jonas Brothers. This song was originally recorded by LFO but I love the Jonas Brothers take on it. It’s a Joe-heavy song as most of the songs on my list are and I’d like to see how the boys would sound, singing this as they haven’t in many years.

3. Much Better

As you can tell, I’m trying to pick a song from each of their albums besides their new one as they’ll be singing a ton of those songs. I’d go as far to say that this entire album is underrated as the Jonas Brothers were coming off 2 majorly successful years. Lines, Vines and Trying Times was their first real “experimental” album and one that I know isn’t everyone’s favorite.

Thankfully, the album has a lot of bops and one that I particularly enjoy is Much Better. If you followed the drama, then you know this song is based on Joe’s relationship with Taylor Swift. By today’s standards, he would be throwing some major shade but I think this is a pretty polite breakup song and one that doesn’t get enough love. I especially love the vocals in this and the lyrics are just everything.

2. BB Good

I distinctly remember listening to this song a lot when the album came out. If I’m remembering right, A Little Bit Longer started out with this song. However, it never seemed to get as much love as it deserved. Rather, the album was known for hits like Burning Up and Lovebug which is great songs.

There was just something about BB Good that felt different. It felt like a more mature song but would be considered tame now. Regardless this song was just unlike anything I’ve heard from them before and I LOVED it. As per the other songs, I’m pretty sure that Joe was the only one who sang on this one and I absolutely die for that. Lmao

1. Hollywood

If I had to pick one song that I’d DIE to hear as a fan request, it’s Hollywood. If you’re sensing a theme, then you’re right. This song is severely underrated and I think it’s one that they haven’t played since their 2007 tour. Honestly, I wish that this song was getting as much hype as their others because it’s just glorious.

I’d love to see if they change the lyrics or keep them the same. A 2019 version could be completely different and I’d like to see that. Since they’re only doing one fan request, I’d love it if they decided to do this song!

Those are my top 5 #HappinessBegins Tour fan requests. Hopefully, by the time my show happens, they haven’t sung these. If they have, then it’s on me. Lol

Would anyone like to see a post about my concert? I’d be happy to do one if you’re planning on going to see them or if you’re looking for tips about the Hershey Park stadium. Either way, I’m just so EXCITED that a post is pretty much inevitable at this point. 😀

Ranking my top 5 songs from Happiness Begins by the Jonas Brothers

Hello friends and fellow Jonas Brothers lovers! For my Friday post this week, I wanted to do something a little different. In honor of the Jonas Brothers released their first new album in a decade, I wanted to pay homage to it. Additionally, the band has the no. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and I couldn’t be more proud. It’s so odd to think that I’ve loved them for over 10 years of my life.

As much as I love the album, I definitely have some favorite songs. Before I get into this ranking, I’d like to happily say that each song is good on its own. It’s clear they put a lot of time, effort and love into Happiness Begins. I’m just so happy that they’re back so what better way to show my appreciation?

I know a majority of my followers probably aren’t Jonas Brothers fan, but I implore you to check this album out. It has that same feel of a Jonas Brothers album while still being something new for them. It might surprise you 🙂

5. Sucker

I’d be remiss to not include Sucker on this list. This song is what brought the Jonas Brothers back to us. Additionally, it’s one of the standout songs of the album and a clear love letter to all of their wives. One of my friends at work called it the best from the album and I have to agree plus it’s an incredibly successful one to boot. I always get a smile on my face as soon as I can hear the opening notes of it.

4. Don’t Throw It Away

I haven’t really heard anyone talking about this song and that’s fair. In comparison to other songs, this one isn’t that exciting. The entire premise of the song is about a couple possibly breaking up and the guy wanting the girl to think before she acts. I’m sure that’s something that most of us can relate to. With a runtime of just under 3 minutes, it’s just a pretty short song but one that has a nice beat and will have you wanting to dance while you’re listening.

3. Strangers

This is another one that I don’t hear many people talking about. Strangers is a hard song to describe, but I think it’s about meeting someone new and feeling an immediate connection with them. What I love most about this song is that Joe and Nick sing on the chorus together which is basically a recipe for success. Their voices just blend well together and I can’t help but love it.

2. Rollercoaster

Looking at the album as a whole, this is a song that a lot of people love and I completely agree. This song can be interpreted in many different ways as some see it as a reflection of their love for the brothers, a past relationship or just looking back at the past. For me, it’s a mix of all three and that’s why I love it so much. This song makes me feel happy, sad and hopeful all at once.

Whenever I hear it, I just want to scream sing it. Rollercoaster is a song that I loved immediately upon hearing it and I haven’t stopped since.

1. Used To Be

As most of my followers know, I’ve been dealing with a breakup. For the most part, I can say that I’m over it but I do have some moments where it hits me hard. This song, in particular, has been my favorite of the album because of that. This song talks about dealing with a breakup and how you’re not in love with them anymore but you’ll always have that connection. Even though we haven’t talked since it happened, I relate to this song so much.

I don’t know if it’s just the lyrics or what, but I fell in love with this song. I know I won’t be for everyone, but it just spoke to me immediately. Plus Joe sings a lot in this one and everyone knows that Joe is my favorite brother. Guess I’m just predictable in that department lmao.

If you’re a Jonas Brothers fan, I’d like to know your top 5 favorite songs. I think the main reason I love this album is that everyone has different faves. Every time I talk to someone, they have a different favorite song and I LOVE that.

My Favorite…Jonas Brother

Hello friends and fellow boyband lovers! This week’s prompt is one that’s mostly for me but I wanted to include everyone so I expanded it. June has truly been an entire month of Jonas Brothers-related content and I’m here for it. I have another post about them planned for Friday, too. Before then, let’s get into this week’s “My Favorite” post!

BookishlyRebecca is now the host of the “My Favorite” meme, a weekly meme posted on Wednesday. Originally started by Maureen’s Books, she agreed to let me take over.

As Maureen described it, “In this meme, we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it. The world can be a dark place and it’s to share something positive. Each week I will post a new My Favorite.. post about one subject and I’ll tell you all about it. And the best part? Everyone is welcome to join. The only thing you’ll have to do is sign up on my weekly post, link back to this post and visit others.”

At the end of each month, I’ll post the prompts for the following month so be sure to check back then!

For this one, I had to go with my favorite Jonas Brother. He might not be everyone’s favorite, but there is no doubt that he’s entertaining. My favorite of the Jonas Brothers has to be Joe. I have a few reasons why which I’ll get into now.

The main reason why Joe is my favorite is that we have the same birthday. As soon as I did a little more research (ahem 12 years ago), then I knew he had to be my fave. As for my other reasons, I prefer his voice over Nick’s and he’s funny plus he always puts a smile on my face. I could just go on and on about how much I love him.

Perfect example, though. On Sunday, I was talking to my boss and another guy to whom I said: I just wanted to let everyone know that I love Joe Jonas more than anything in this life. The two acted as if I wasn’t a complete weirdo and just shook their heads lmao. If that isn’t my brand, I don’t know what else is.

Storytime: How I got tickets to see the Jonas Brothers!

Hello friends and fellow Jonas Brothers lovers! I just want to apologize if you see me acting crazy on social media. I’m prewriting this post, but today is the day that the Jonas Brothers new album comes out. I’ve been thinking about it since it was announced and it just feels surreal to me. Lmao

That being said, I wanted to do a post in honor of that. Last month, I wrote up a post about my 10 Favorite JB Songs. I wanted to do an album review, but I’ll probably do one of those later. I want to listen to the album fully and be able to formulate a well thought-out review.

Instead, I’m going to talk about how I got Jonas Brothers tickets for their Happiness Begins tour! You’re all in for a wild ride so let’s get into it.

If I’m remembering it correctly, the Jonas Brothers posted their tour announcement on May 1st and I legit screamed. I was so happy and excited that I screamed at work. I had waited for years to go see them again and this time, I was going to be able to buy them myself. It was exciting lmao.

In the following days, they released this “Verified Fan” presale thing on Ticketmaster which I signed up for. I signed up for it, not thinking that I would be picked. The concert gods were looking out for me as I was picked to buy tickets on May 8th as part of that presale. Unfortunately, that meant I was going to have to buy tickets at work.

I worked at 9:30 and the presale started at 10. I did a little bit of work until 10 and then went back to the breakroom. I set up my laptop, got connected to the internet and got in the queue for tickets. Unfortunately for me so did 2,000 other people. I sat back there for about 10 or 15 minutes before I was finally moving up to the line.

Once I got to the front of the line, I immediately started panicking. I needed to enter my code, find the section I wanted and get seats I thought were decent. After a bit of panicking, I was finally able to snag 3 tickets for me and my two oldest friends. They aren’t super close but my friends stressed not getting anything on the floor so I’ll insert a pic below.

As far as buying tickets go, it wasn’t very complicated. I know other people had trouble but it was a breeze for me. I was able to get in, get the 3 tickets and get out within a matter of 30 minutes. If I end up going to see them again, I’ll definitely try to get another Verified Fan presale code. It made my life so much easier.

This is the part of the post where I start using exclamation points. In addition to getting tickets to the concert, I’m also MEETING THE JONAS BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Friends, I have been waiting many years of my life to say that and it’s finally happening. As for the m&g site, that was an absolute mess but I was able to snag them and now, I’ll be meeting them.

Honestly, I feel like the Jonas Brothers getting back together has been my favorite part of 2019. Dealing with my breakup is rough but they make it better. I know that most people would say that they’re just some boyband, but they’re so much more to me. I honestly don’t think I could’ve gotten up in the morning sometimes if it wasn’t for them. That might sound sad, but it’s true.

Regardless, I’m going to see them. I’m going to hug them and tell them how much I love them. That’s been one of my bucket list items and I can’t believe it’s happening. 2019 has been a hard year for me, but just those two things are going to make me so incredibly happy.

Probably not the most exciting storytime, but one I wanted to share 🙂

Ranking my Top 10 Jonas Brothers songs

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! Originally, I wanted to write a discussion post but it ended up being a jumbled-up mess. Instead, I decided to do a non-bookish post and with the recent Jonas Brothers reunion, this is the idea I came up with. I feel like I’ve only mentioned it once or twice on my blog but I stan the Jonas Brothers and I have for the last 10 years of my life.

I’m pretty sure I found out about them in 7th or 8th grade. From that point on, I was obsessed, in love and let’s be real, I still am. Since their reunion, I’ve either been listening to their new song or been switching around between the old albums. As dumb as it might sound, I’m just so happy that they’re back and they put me in a good mood every time I hear them sing, watch a video or do anything basically.

I love those boys with every fiber of my being. I will stan them until I DIE and even after, I will haunt people and sing their songs. Joe, Nick, and Kevin are so special to me and I honestly can’t imagine my life without them. That sounds so crazy but they were such a BIG part of my life when I was younger.

In honor of their reunion, I thought I’d talk about my 10 favorite songs by them. I am what you would call a Jonas connoisseur. I have all of their albums including their 3D concert album and the special Bonus Jonas edition. I consider myself an expert in their music. However, I won’t be including any “unreleased” songs even if they are bangers.

10. “Year 3000” from Jonas Brothers (2007)

I know what you’re thinking. “Rebecca, you really put Year 3000 at #10??” Yes, I know but just hear me out. We all know that Year 3000 slaps but it’s also one of their most famous songs and their most recognizable. Personally, I’m into their slower songs but I can admit that Year 3000 is the jam of the century. There’s a reason why it’s called Year 3000 because it’s truly going to last that long.

I picked it as my #10 because it’s one of their more fun songs. For me, this is one that I like to sing the shower or dance around to. Also, can we just talk about the hair?? Joe’s especially (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) This video is really fun but it’s also technically not their song as it’s a cover of Busted. That’s why it ended up being #10 on my list.

9. “Mandy” from It’s About Time (2006)

If you’re an OG Jonas fan, then you know the struggle of It’s About Time. This was their first CD and it’s almost impossible to get a copy of it. At the time of its release, it only sold like over 100,000 copies which are wild. Since then, fans have been clamoring for it and rightfully so.

Their first single from the album was “Mandy.” Written about a family friend, the song is basically about how great Mandy is. Simple but it makes for such a catchy song. As previously mentioned, this was before they signed with Disney so it has more of a punk/rock feel than pop. I think this was the perfect single for them as it would have appealed to both their teen listeners and adults, too.

8. “Burnin Up” from A Little Bit Longer (2008)

Once again, I know you probably think I’m crazy for ranking this one as low but I’m not the biggest fan of their singles. However, I do think this song is a stand-out from A Little Bit Longer. Honestly, that album is probably my least favorite of theirs. Unpopular opinion, I know but it never grabbed me like the others. Doesn’t mean I don’t know all the words, though.

This song is such a quintessential summer song and every time I hear it, it puts me in a good mood. The video was perfect, the lyrics are perfect and JB is perfect. This was when they were at the peak of their fame and it’s clear that Disney knew how big of a hit this song was going to be. Even though I look super white when I dance, I can’t help but dance to this.

7. “6 Minutes” from It’s About Time (2006)

If I had to pick a favorite from It’s About Time, it would be 6 Minutes. One thing that many people might not know is that It’s About Time is full of covers. 6 Minutes was a cover of an LFO song but for some reason, I fell in love with it. Probably because Joe sings a majority of it and I have been a Joe girl from day 1.

Either way, 6 Minutes is a song I always return to. They did a performance at a club or some MTV after-party and I rewatched it all the time. I hope it still exists because I’d love to rewatch it again. Once again, this one isn’t an overly poppy song but rather a more punk/rock inspired one.

6. “Hello Beautiful” from Jonas Brothers (2007)

I feel like I don’t even need to explain this answer because the title should tell you everything. This song is a slow-jam and it’s basically a love letter they’re writing to their long-distance girlfriend. if I had to guess, I’d say this was probably a Nick-Miley song but I don’t really know.

Regardless, this song just makes me feel so gooey inside. It feels like they’re singing directly to you and I’M BLUSHING. I used to love listening to this song before bed because it’s so soothing. I especially relate to it because my boyfriend’s in California and I miss him V MUCH so it’s the story of my life. Thank you Jonas Brothers, praise bless.

5. “Sucker” (2019)

Since we’re officially at the mid-point, I figured I’d feature their newest song. This song is so different from what they’ve done before. Despite how different it is, it’s somehow better than anything they’ve ever done before. Regardless, I haven’t formed a connection to it like with their older music. It did give us an entirely new Jonas Brothers era, though.

Sucker has everything I’ve always wanted in a Jonas song. Sex for one (just kidding!) I love their new sound, the lyrics, how mature their voices sound and just hearing them back together is amazing. Even though I’m not as connected, this song does mean a lot to me and I can’t wait to see what songs they release next. Plus the video is everything I never knew I needed.

4. “Black Keys” from Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009)

This album was their first foray into something other than the pop Disney sound. The album has some great songs, but my favorite is easy “Black Keys.” I’m honestly not even sure what this song’s about but I really relate to it for some reason. Maybe it’s because I’m super insecure but it’s an empowering song. 🙂

This is another one that’s on the slower side and is soothing. Nick does take the lead in this one, but I don’t mind. I think his voice suits this better than Joe’s would so I can excuse it :P. Plus I remember really loving this song when I was younger and I could seriously listen to it all night.

3. “S.O.S” from Jonas Brothers (2007)

I’d be remiss to not include one of their best singles in the top 3. S.O.S. is arguably their biggest song of all time and the opening notes are iconic. At least I think so because every time I hear it, I know exactly what song’s going to come on. It was the perfect song to introduce them into the world.

This was basically a break-up anthem and one that still holds up today. It’s just so catchy and every time it comes on, I just want to scream. I mean that in the best way haha but I just love this song so much. It’s also the first song on the album and what a way to start out!

2. “When You Look Me In The Eyes” from Jonas Brothers (2007)

I’ll be completely honest here. I didn’t love this song when it came out because everyone loved it. Honestly, that album slapped and the people in HS didn’t even listen to the entire thing…just that one song. A musical tragedy if I’d ever heard of it but as I’ve grown up, I’ve come to appreciate and love this song.

This was one of the multiple love songs on the album, but it still sticks out. In a weird way, it kind of feels like an anthem for fans. As fans, we love them and have stuck through them with everything and this song feels like an answer to that. Plus the video is just amazing so how could I not love it??

1. “Just Friends” from Jonas Brothers (2007)

I know this is probably a controversial opinion, but this is my favorite Jonas Brothers song. For years, I’ve loved Just Friends and the song has never gotten the attention it deserved. It’s a song about the boys being in love with one of their friends and it eventually becoming more. Hello 911, the Jonas Brothers STOLE MY LIFE STORY!!!!!

This is another one that isn’t a super pop-heavy song and I just love everything about. I don’t even mind how much Nick sings. I love the lyrics so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just love this song so much and I don’t even know how to describe it. It makes me so happy and I’m glad this song exists.

Those are my Top 10 favorite Jonas Brothers songs. Honestly, I could probably make this into a top 20 but I decided to challenge myself. I might have forgotten a few but oh well, these are the songs that I consider favorites right now!

Do you like the Jonas Brothers? If so, what’s your favorite song by them?
