Hello friends and fellow book lovers!! I’m so excited to finally be making this post and it’s about Ellyn and I starting a book club. Our book club is called The Hoemance Book Club and it’s basically a play on the Bromance Book Club series by Lyssa Kay Adams. Basically, it’s a way for Ellyn and I to buddy read romances together along with anyone else who wants to join us.
Basically, Ellyn pitched me this idea and I was DOWN before she even finished sending out the message lmao. With that being said, we’re so excited to kick things off but before we get started, I wanted to include our social media links if you want to connect with us. We have a Twitter, Instagram and Discord ❤
For each month, we’re going to be doing a rotating theme with one month being a new release while the next will be a backlist title. We’re also going to be announcing the titles pretty early so you have time to acquire the book in your preferred medium. Last but not least, we have a Google form where you can make suggestions/requests for books you want use to read. 🙂
And the September Book pick is…
For September, the book club pick is going to be The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang which I’m including the synopsis of below.
When violinist Anna Sun accidentally achieves career success with a viral YouTube video, she finds herself incapacitated and burned out from her attempts to replicate that moment. And when her longtime boyfriend announces he wants an open relationship before making a final commitment, a hurt and angry Anna decides that if he wants an open relationship, then she does, too. Translation: She’s going to embark on a string of one-night stands. The more unacceptable the men, the better.
That’s where tattooed, motorcycle-riding Quan Diep comes in. Their first attempt at a one-night stand fails, as does their second, and their third, because being with Quan is more than sex—he accepts Anna on an unconditional level that she has just started to understand herself. However, when tragedy strikes Anna’s family she takes on a role that she is ill-suited for, until the burden of expectations threatens to destroy her. Anna and Quan have to fight for their chance at love, but to do that, they also have to fight for themselves.
With all of that being said, I think that’s all the core information you need. If not, I know Ellyn will have all the details I’ve forgotten. Either way, I’m excited to get reading and especially to kick off the book club with this hopefully new favorite 😛 Before you finish reading my post, please take the time to look over these attached links to help with Black Lives Matter.
