4 YA books I have on my TBR

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! I knew that I was going to talk about this eventually on my blog but I’ve really started to outgrow reading YA books. I know that for some, it’s all they read but for me, I’m starting to outgrow the books on the whole. While I do have some I’ve enjoyed, I don’t get nearly as much enjoyment as previous years.

As sad as that is, I don’t think that I’ll ever stop truly reading YA books, though. There are definitely some authors I still enjoy that write YA or have YA books coming out in the future so I won’t count myself out completely. As you might guess, you just won’t be seeing nearly as much YA on my blog as before which isn’t anything new tbh.

However, I do have some YA books that I either purchased on Kindle or just have an interest in so I knew I wanted to write up a post about them so let’s get into the 4 YA books I have on my TBR. 🙂

4. You Must Not Miss

The first YA book I have on my TBR is one that’s been on Kindle forever. This one was a daily deal and since then, it’s just been sitting there. I’ve never read anything by Katrina Leno but I’ve heard great things. Her books seem like they’re more spooky/magical vibes which sounds like it could be fun. I honestly don’t remember much about this one but I’m excited to finally get to this one.

3. Grown

The next book is the most recent from my list and is one I’ve been eager to read since before its release. Grown is a book about an aspiring singer and the toxic situation she gets into with an older music superstar? I could be wrong, but I believe this book is inspired by R. Kelly and the book follows a girl in a similar situation. Either way, it sounds like it’s going to be hard-hitting and it’s by Tiffany D. Jackson so I’m sure it’ll be good.

2. Blood Water Paint

The next book is one that I’ve heard about for years but have yet to read. Blood Water Paint is a novel told-in-verse about a famous painter named Artemisia Gentileschi and how she decided to take her rapist to trial back in the 1700’s, I think? Either way, it’s another one that sounds hard-hitting and like it could be a new favorite.

1. The Wicker King

The final YA book I have on my TBR is The Wicker King by K. Ancrum. I read K. Ancrum’s second book The Weight of the Stars and LOVED it. It was such a beautifully written story and such a compulsive read that I couldn’t get enough of it. I knew that I wanted to read more of her backlist so this one is high priority.

  1. I feel the same way about YA books! I do have very, very many left on my TBR that I own, so I will be reading those, but I feel myself starting to move onto other genres, so I most likely won’t buy them for myself anymore. I am excited to see that others feel this way too ^^
