Hello friends and fellow book lovers! For this month, I didn’t feel like writing up a TBR. I know that I’ll be participating in a readathon at some point this month. However, I haven’t decided on one yet and so I don’t have a set number of books or any books I want to read. For me, this is a little bit off-the-wall as I’m not usually a mood reader. I like to have a TBR in mind since I’m somewhat indecisive when it comes to reading.
With all of that being said, I’m going to try and set some small reading plans/goals for myself in May so let’s get into those four goals. 🙂
1. Read another Jackie Lau book
The first reading goal I have for May is to read another Jackie Lau book. If you’ve been following me, then you’ll know I’ve been making my way through her backlist. Jackie Lau is easily one of my favorite romance authors and I’ve been having so much fun, reading her books. Right now, I have three of her books left and I’m trying to read at least one a month so I can hold myself over until her November release lmao.
2. Read at least 4 Kindle books
The next reading goal I have for May is to read at least 4 Kindle books. I have a ton of books on my Kindle that are unread and I just need to get that number down. Considering how much books I bought and ones that are on KU, I should have an easy time, reaching this goal. I do hope that I can finally clear out my KU shelf as I’ve had a few borrows out for weeks.
3. Finish Jodie Slaughter’s backlist
The next goal I have for May is to finish Jodie Slaughter’s backlist. I’ve read all of her books aside from this one and I feel the most nervous about it. Even though I read a hitman romance last month, I’m anxious about this one. Either way, I want to finally read her entire backlist and be caught up before her next release.
4. Read at least two YA books
The final reading goal I have for May is to read at least two YA books. Lately, I’ve been getting away from YA but the last two I read, I really enjoyed. With that being said, I wanted to try and incorporate more into my reading life. I also want to see if I can pinpoint which YA books work for me and which don’t so I can have an better handle when it comes to picking up books. I only set my goal for two so I don’t stray too far way from what I normally read, though.
Those are just some small reading goals for May. Personally, I love making TBRs but I felt like mixing things up this month so I went with reading goals. May is probably going to be a busy month for me but I know that I should have a decent amount of reading time. Either way, I’d love to know if anyone else has reading goals for May as well.
