Hello friends and fellow book lovers! I’m finally doing my recs post for the month as I didn’t realize I’d almost forgotten it. Thankfully, I finally got my butt in gear and decided to write up a post about it. For me, I’m super excited to talk about novellas as I’ve recently come to love them and have tons of them on my TBR. With that being said, let’s get into my novella recs and some I have on my TBR. 🙂
The first novella I have to recommend is one I read in 2021 and that’s Worship by Jack Harbon. This is a second-chance friends-to-lovers story about two people who reconnect at their high school reunion. If you couldn’t tell by the cover, this book is incredibly steamy but it features such an adorable relationship that I couldn’t get enough of. It was incredibly short like under 80 pages but somehow managed to make a believable relationship which isn’t easy.
2. Four Letter Word
The next novella I have to recommend is Four Letter Word by Ava Freeman. This is an f/f romance between two co-workers that’s sweet but also steamy. While I did think things moved a bit too fast, this was a really fun story. Honestly, so many moments in this story had me laughing out loud and I couldn’t get enough of their interactions. This is the start of a series, but can be read as a standalone but I do plan on continuing with the rest of the series.
3. Coffee In The Noon
My next recommendation is Coffee In The Noon by Harleigh Rae. This book is one of the most gorgeously written story I’ve ever read. It tells such a beautiful story of love between Forge and Onyx. It’s also a relatively clean and sweet romance if that’s what you’re looking for. Me personally, I absolutely adored the writing in this and if you like flowery writing, then this story will work for you. Once again, this is another short one and I think it clocks in under 50 pages.
4. Birthday Sex
The next novella I have to recommend is Birthday Sex by Té Russ. This follows Harper and Trent who meet up on each other’s birthdays to have sex. While most of the book features them having sex, there’s also a romance between the two of them. I actually read this on my birthday last year and LOVED it. Super short and steamy which is basically a theme for me lmao.
The final novella I have to recommend is ATE by Rilzy Adams. This is a romance between a girl and the private chef she hires as they spend the night together since her friend bailed. I don’t want to say much else as this is only 50 pages but it’s short and steamy. I honestly read this at my man’s house and it was the perfect way to pass time in the evening while he was playing his game lmao. Overall, I thought it was an incredibly sexy and fun read.
6. It’s The Chase For Me
The first novella I have on my TBR is It’s The Chase For Me by Christina C Jones. I’ve read a handful of CCJ’s books and I read the first book she released that’s another Heights story but this one seems like it’s going to be equally as fun. She doesn’t get into any details during the synopsis but it seems like it’s going to be short, sweet and steamy which she’s great at.
7. Take It (On the Clock #1)
The next novella I have on my TBR is Take It which is the first in a series by Shae Sanders. I picked up two of her books last year and loved both of them plus I also enjoyed her Christmas novella. This one seems like it’s going to have her trademark fun writing style and feature a well-rounded story in a short amount of pages. Shae Sanders is easily becoming one of my new favorite authors.
8. Press Play
The next novella I have on my TBR is Press Play by Ash Dylan. I feel like I saw someone mention this on Twitter and then put it on my TBR. I might be wrong but I think this is a friends-to-lovers romance in which they make a sex tape? I might be totally wrong but it seems like a fun and sexy read so what do I have to complain about?
9. Someone: A Novella
The next novella I have on my TBR is Someone by Kendra Danielle. I honestly don’t know much about this story but I loved how the cover looked on Amazon. Since then, I’ve been eager to pick it up. I’m pretty sure it’s a Black woman, white man story which I don’t read that much so it’ll be something different for me. Either way, I hope it lives up to the hype that the cover gave me lmao.
The final novella I have on my TBR is Hefty by Jessa Kane. I’ve read a few Jessa Kane novellas before and never really LOVED them. However, this one has been getting hyped up all over romancelandia so I finally gave in. I know this is a YA novella and I’m pretty sure it follows a bigger hero which we don’t usually see. Either way, the cover is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before and I hope that I end up getting to it soon 😀
Anyways, those are some novellas I recommend and a few I have on my TBR. I honestly love reading novellas and with my ideas for February, I’m definitely going to be dipping into this list more than once. Overall, I hope someone was able to pick up something from this list and find a new read.
