Hello friends and fellow book lovers! For December, you already saw some of my TBR picks with the Romance Readathon Takeover but that’s going from November 29-Dec 11th while this read-a-thon is quite a bit longer. This entire readathon takes place from Dec 1 to Feb 28th, 2021. Once you see the prompts, you’ll see why these this readathon lasts for a longer than normal so let’s get into the prompts and the books I plan on reading for them.
You’ll also be getting another TBR post later in the month for the Smutathon and I might do one for some of the Christmas romances I plan on reading this month. Honestly, this month is probably going to be packed with all the books I have picked out to read so get ready! Lol
Before getting into the bingo board and some of the books I have picked out, this round is being hosted by Dani, Jen and Aarya. I follow all of them on Twitter and they encourage you to post about it on Twitter so they can keep track in their hashtag so let’s get into the board.
Set Outside the US or Europe
The first book I chose for the board is Sweet On You by Carla De Guzman. I’ve never read anything by this author before but I’ve heard Sil rave about her. This book is also a Christmas romance set in the Philippines which sounds perfect for this time and a perfect one for the board.
The next book I chose was A Second Chance Road Trip for Christmas by Jackie Lau and it’s going to do wonders for this prompt. The Wongs are a big family and there’s always some kind of drama involved with them. I really enjoyed the previous book in this series so I’m excited to see what Jackie Lau does next with a new couple.
The book I chose for this prompt is One Bed for Christmas. I’m honestly not sure if this one is going to feature a hot beverage but I’m placing my bets on it.
This is one of the prompts that I don’t have anything picked out for yet but I’m sure I’ll find something soon. Be sure to let me know if you guys have any recs for me!
This is another book I have on my Kindle. It’s a Christmas romance and it’s by Rilzy Adams so I’m basically destine to love it. I bought it months ago and I’ve been waiting until closer to Christmas to read it. It seems like it’s going to be a solid read as almost all of Rilzy Adams books are.
Childfree HEA and Into The Woods
This is another one I don’t have a book picked out for yet but I’m sure it won’t be hard to find one. 🙂
The book I chose for this one is Agnes Moore’s Wild Knight by Alyssa Cole. I’ve read a lot of Alyssa Cole’s backlist but have yet to read her historical books. I’m excited to finally read some of her historical works and see what I think about them.
Feels Like Home
For this prompt, I chose Inheritance which is the second book in the Welcome to Sea Port series and it’s set in a small town. I’m from a small town so that’s why I’m connecting it to myself. I originally was going to look for a romance book set in Pennsylvania which isn’t always easy.
I’ve had this book on my Kindle since it came out and I have yet to read it but I do know it features fake dating. Plus that cover’s just gorgeous so I want to get it read early in the year so I know I’ll get it done at some point during the beginning of the year.
No surprise I’m going to be using this one as my reread for the board as I’ve talked about how excited I am to reread it.
Cover/Title You Love
I feel like I don’t need to get into why I love this cover but this is a book I’ve been putting off forever so I need to finally read it.
Last Book Acquired
*Once again, this is another one where I’m going to wait until later when I have acquired more Kindle books 🙂
Audiobook or HEA
This is a book I’ve been waiting to read as well. I read the fourth of July version of this and loved it. I’ve been excited to go back and read the Christmas version. It seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun.
For this one, I decided to go with a recommendation from Sofia from Bookish Wanderess who always kills it with the recs. I went with her Favorite Romance Books of 2020 post and saw that she featured Only When It’s Us by Chloe Liese. This book is pretty hyped so I think it’s finally time I read it.
Tentatively I’m going to be using Neighborly by Katrina Jackson for this one because I’m hoping her characters have brown eyes. If not, I’ll sub it in for something else.
Small Town Romance By AOC
I’m pretty sure this is going to be a small-town romance as it’s set at a cabin. If not, I might sub it in elsewhere and find a different book to use.
The book I chose for this one is Mangos and Mistletoe which is a Christmas romance that I’m SO excited for. This is an f/f romance and it just seems like it’s going to be snowy and cute. I’m just dying for some adorable Christmas f/f goodness!!!
This is one of the books I have picked out for my other readathon. I’m excited to see if I enjoy more of Chelsea M Cameron’s books. It seems like it’s going to be another short and fun f/f romance which is a great way to wrap up this year.
I’m not exactly sure if this book features messy characters, but I’m just assuming it is because the premise sounds pretty messy. I’m pretty sure it’s about a woman who becomes a surrogate for her best friend and then the best friend dies so she ends up with her widower, I think? I might be wrong but it sounds messy.
The book I chose for this one is Learn My Lesson by Katee Robert. If I’m remembering correctly, Hades is the owner of an underground sex club. Obviously, that fits for both a specific and unusual profession. Plus I have this one on my Smutathon TBR already so I’m just SO hyped.
I’m torn between two books for this one as I can’t decide if I should read The Duke Who Didn’t by Courtney Milan or Party Favors by Erin McLellan.
The next book I chose was Rapper’s Delight by Kenya Goree-Bell. I’m pretty sure this is a romance between a rapper and the woman who writes for him. I’ve been hyped for this book since the summer but have yet to read it. It seems like it’s going to be delightful and I can’t wait to check this one off my TBR.
This one is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I’ve been super hyped about it. I’m pretty sure this is Jack Harbon’s first m/f book published under this name. He’s been hyping it up on his Twitter so I’m just SO hyped to read it.
With that being said, those are just some of the books I plan on reading in December and this is going to serve as my December TBR. I’m just excited to get to these books read and to find some other books to plug it when necessary. If you have any recs for those unfulfilled prompts, be sure to let me know!
