Books I Currently Have On Hold at the Library (3)

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! To replace “My Favorite” this week, I’ve decided to do a post about the books I currently have on hold at the library. The last time I did this was almost exactly a year ago. Honestly, I feel like it’s pretty interesting and kind of feels like a book haul. I don’t do those but this is somewhat similar so let’s get into it.

Before getting started, I wanted to clarify that I actually have 4 library cards. I have one for the Free Library of Philadelphia, one for Fairfax County and then the third one is for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg library. The one for my local library rarely has holds so I’m not counting that one. If you want to know more about acquiring non-resident library cards, then I highly suggest watching Izzy’s video as she covers it extensively.

1. Well Played (Well Met #2)

Last year, I read Well Met and enjoyed it. It was such a fun and delightful romantic comedy so I was excited to pick up Well Played. I know this book follows Stacy who is Emily’s friend in Book 1 and is part of the Ren Faire crew. I’m not sure who her romance is going to be with but I’m sure it’ll be another fun read. I’m crossing my fingers it end up being a good autumnal read.

2. Wires and Nerve (Wires and Nerve #1)

The next book I have on hold is Wire and Nerve. By the time this post goes up, I should have already read this book or so I hope. This book follows Iko’s adventures and honestly, I love that idea. Iko is such a fun and lovable character so I’m happy to be reading a story centered around her.

3. Sweetest in the Gale (There’s Something About Marysburg #3)

The next book I placed a hold on was Sweetest in the Gale by Olivia Dade. I’ve been devouring Olivia Dade’s books this year and I’m pretty sure this is the conclusion to the There’s Something About Marysburg series. I think this follows 3 different couples who get their own HEAs and it seems like it’s going to be every bit as delightful as the rest of the series. Honestly, I LOVE this cover and I’m just happy to finally be finishing this series.

4. The Roommate

If you couldn’t tell, I’m making the most of my library to read a lot of the hyped 2020 romance releases. The Roommate is about a girl who gets dumped and has to find a new place fast so she becomes roommates with a male pornstar. This premise just sounds super fun and has the potential for SO much steam. I’ve heard pretty good things about this one too and I can’t wait to finally dive into it.

5. Watch Over Me

Moving away from romance reads, I’ve been eagerly anticipating Nina LaCour’s new release and the Charlotte library didn’t have a very long wait. I actually decided to put a hold on the audio since it’s relatively short and I think it has the potential to be a spooky Halloween read. Plus Nina LaCour is one of my favorite YA authors so I’m happy to wait for this as long as I have to lmao.

6. Her Night with the Duke (Clandestine Affairs #1)

The final library hold I’ve placed is Her Night With the Duke by Diana Quincy. I honestly don’t know much about this book. However, I’ve heard Jess from PeaceLoveBooks rave about it and I saw one of my libraries had it. I quickly placed a hold on it and I’ve been eager to read it. Personally, I don’t read as much historical romance as I used to but I’m trying to get back into it. Hopefully, this one will live up to the hype and will be my return to the historical romance genre.

Anyways, those are all the books I currently have on hold at the library. I’ve really been utilizing my library and Kindle Unlimited this year which is why my 2020 reads are SO much higher than last year. Overall, I’m just happy to share this since it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these posts. 1. I’ve posted a lot of library hauls this year and I might post another one. The only way I save money on buying books is NOT buying them. Thing is, I enjoy buying books as much as borrowing them from the library, so I try to do it in equal measure. In fact, there are books I will only ever get from the library, since I want to read them but don’t necessarily want to own it.

    1. That’s exactly how I feel. There are tons of books I’ve borrowed from the library and enjoyed but know I’ll never end up buying them.

Oddly enough, almost all of these books came off hold after I posted this so maybe I did myself a solid with this post lmao.
