1. Do you keep a list of the books you have read?

As Jillian said, she uses Goodreads and I do, too. I also have a reading journal that I use to keep track of my TBRs, all the books I’ve read and their ratings. I tried to start the habit before but it never stuck until now. I also use this as a guide to write my wrap-ups. 🙂

2. If you record statistics, what statistics do you record?

As for stats, the only thing I track is the number of books I read and their ratings. That’s all I’m really focused on as I’m more focused on the number of books read rather than how pages each book was.

3. Do you give star ratings for books and if so, what do you score books out of and how do you come about this score?

I do give star ratings to books. I give each book a rating out of 5 with 5 being the best of the bunch/a perfect book. Moving back, 4 is a good/great read but there was either something I didn’t enjoy as much or the book ended up having a plotline that didn’t work for me.

For me, 3 is a middle-of-the-road book as it wasn’t good or bad. Sometimes, it’s a good book that doesn’t work for me or a book that was predictable or a book that I couldn’t connect with. As for a 2-star read, it’s a book I disliked but had at least one or two redeeming qualities. Last but not least is a 1-star read which is a book I absolutely hated and would never read again.

4. Do you review books?

Usually not aside from my monthly reviews on here. I don’t usually write reviews on Goodreads unless I’m really in love with a book. I want to try to get into it though as I think it would help me become a better reviewer. It really depends on how I feel about a book. Once again like Jillian said, I usually do a mini-review during my wrap-ups.

5. Where do you put your finished books?

Most of the books I read are either library books or ones I get from Kindle Unlimited. Once I finish them, they get returned to where they came from. If I buy a book and read it, it either goes on my shelf or ends up being put in my unhaul pile. With me buying such a small amount of books now though, the only books I buy are ones I plan on keeping.

6. Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book?

Once I finish a book, I usually end up doing a few things. First, I mark it as read on Goodreads and pick a rating. Then I record all of that info in my reading journal including the date I read it. Depending on what day of the month it is, I end up writing about it for my wrap-up, too.

  1. I rely on Goodreads for my stats. I’ve tried to collate all of my faves on an excel sheet, but I can’t figure out how to turn it into a chart. My brother (who does stats at uni) can’t figure it out either— I want a pretty visual ahhhh
