Coming up with this one was tough. I have a lot of authors I enjoy who are on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Looking at my Goodreads though, there is one author who stands above the rest and that’s Nina LaCour. I’ve finally gotten through the rest of her backlist and I’m super excited that she’s going to be releasing a book this year.
If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably have to be We Are Okay. I know that Nina LaCour isn’t for everyone as her books are focused more on characters than the plot. I also enjoyed Everything Leads To You which isn’t as depressing as We Are Okay but has a great f/f romance. She also wrote Hold Still, The Disenchantments and co-wrote You Know Me Well.
While I don’t know how Nina identifies herself, it does say on her Goodreads that she lives with her wife and two cats. I’m straight so I can’t speak on the representation of her f/f romances. Nevertheless, I love her books and if you haven’t read anything by her, then I’d highly recommend. 🙂
