July 2019 TBR

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! I feel like there are so many read-a-thons going on in the summer. For July, I don’t think I’m participating in any but if you know of some, please let me know. Last month, I participated in smutathon and really loved it. If anything, it helped spark my reading and get me out of the slump I’ve been in such April.

That being said, I did buy a few books in June. (What book ban???) Lmao but I also have a few books I’d like to take out of the library too. Basically, I’m just going with the flow for my reading. Although I do have a few books I’d like to read that I featured in my Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag.

1. Somewhere Only We Know

Starting with my library books, a book I have coming off hold soon is Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo. If I’m remembering correctly, this is a YA contemporary romance between a K-pop singer and a paparazzi. I’ve read 2 of Maurene Goo’s other books and really enjoyed them so I figured why not give this one a shot? Plus it seems like a good summery contemporary.

2. Let Me Hear A Rhyme

The second book coming off hold soon is Let Me Hear A Rhyme by Tiffany D. Jackson. I got this one on audio since it’s a book all about music. I don’t know much about this but the cover intrigued me so I decided to put a hold on it. I’ve only read Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson so I’m excited to see if I enjoy this one as much.

3. Pulling Doubles (Wright Brothers #2)

Last month, I picked up the first book in the series on audio and liked it. In July, I’m deciding to continue the series and I’m excited to see Joseph Jr’s story. I loved watching Rece and Jason’s relationship develop so I’m hoping this one is every bit as good. If I like this book, then it might cement Christina C. Jones as one of my new favorite authors. I’m just crossing my fingers that it ends up being as good. 😛

4. We Are Never Meeting In Real Life

I made a goal to read more non-fiction in 2019 and I haven’t really done that. I knew I had to feature a non-fiction book on this list. This is a book I’ve had my eye on for a while and it seems like the perfect time. I don’t know if it’s because of the cover or the blurb from Roxane Gay but this book looks hilarious. Maybe someone else reviewed it or something but I’m excited to finally get to it.

Even though I know I’ll read more in the month, those are just some of the books I want to pick up. I have a stack of romance books I bought so I’ll probably dive into those. I’m just excited that I have my reading mojo back and I don’t want to jinx myself. Lmao

What are you planning to read in July? Be sure to let me know in the comments!
