Thank You, Next Book Tag

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! If there was ever a book tag that captured me more, it would be this one. Ever since Ariana came out with her album, I’ve been all over it and can’t stop listening to it. Finally, I’m getting around to doing this tag so let’s get into it.

Before I start, I’d like to thank my best blogging friend Ellyn for tagging me. She’s one of my favorite people and I love talking to her about anything. Plus she knows how much I love Ariana lmao. Thank you Ellyn ❤ ❤

1. Name a book that you said “thank u, next” to, i.e. DNF’d (did not finish)

11738128

It’s no secret that I love Tessa Dare. Unfortunately, I have DNFed one of her books and that’s A Week To Be Wicked. It’s the second book in the Spindle Cove series and I just couldn’t get into it. I think I made it like 10 or 15% in before I had to put it down. Maybe it’s the series because I didn’t enjoy the first book either. Lmao

2. Name a book that taught you love (i.e. a book you loved)

This might be in the running for my favorite book of the year. Fumbled by Alexa Martin was everything I wanted and more. It was such a quick read with a great romance but I especially loved the plot twist at the end. I think it was very timely and made me love Alexa Martin more than I already did.

3. Name a book that taught you patience

30555412

I feel like I mention this book all the time, but I had SO much patience when I was reading this. Mostly because I thought it was going to be a fun basketball romance and it was the exact opposite. Either way, I’m glad that I decided to be patient and finish it out in the end. Plus I have an interest in reading the rest of the series.

4. Name a book that taught you pain

22499754

Talk about an emotional book. Even though I don’t like Levana as a character, I think this book did a great job of giving her depth. I felt every emotion while I was reading this and I can’t believe that the book ended how it did. It makes me all the more excited to finish the series and find out what happens.

5. Name a book that you loved at the time of reading but in hindsight, you do not like as much anymore but which you still learned some other quality from.

31145133

Looking back, I think I’d have to lower my rating. I think I was being a little generous but this book read a little juvenile to me. I really did enjoy this book when I read it and it made me love Maurene Goo as an author. At least, there’s that.

6. Name a book you’re currently talking to, i.e. have the hots for.

40192566

The book I’m currently reading is When It’s Real by Erin Watt. I’ve never read anything but this duo. I really like the plot of this book but I do think it borders a little bit on fanfiction. Regardless, it’s a fast and fun read which is what I wanted. I’m guessing I’ll probably give it like 3 stars.

7. Name the book that gon’ last – the book of you – the book that helped you love yourself a little bit more.

36076595

Even though this book used to remind me of my relationship, it doesn’t anymore. Rather, this book reminds me of how you can raise from the ashes and be better. If you’ve read If You Come Softly, then you’ll know. Either way, I still consider this book one of my favorites of all time. ❤

  1. Thank you so much for tagging me, this looks like so much fun! I haven’t read any of these books but I have When It’s Real on my shelf so I’m excited to see what I think of it. I get where you’re coming from with the fanfiction aspect though just from reading the synopsis haha!
