Hello friends and fellow book lovers! This Sunday tag post is a throwback one that I haven’t done in almost 2 years. Since then I’ve read like almost 200 books I think so no doubt my answer has changed. Regardless, I’m going to give it another try and see what I think now. 🙂
Thank you so much to Crystal for tagging me. Crystal is such a sweetheart and a new mom so I give her all the credit in the world. She runs a blog plus takes care of her family, that’s amazing. Be sure to follow her if you haven’t! ❤
Nope Ending: A book that made you go nope either in denial, rage or simply because the ending was terrible
I DON’T EVEN HAVE WORDS OK
Nope Protagonist: A main character you dislike and drives you crazy
Ugh, the main character from 99 Percent Mine Darcy is so annoying. She was such a brat and I couldn’t stand how she acted. She was an adult yet she acted like such a baby. I still can’t believe this is the same author that wrote the lovable characters in The Hating Game.
Nope Popular Pair: A “ship” you don’t support
I really enjoy the Wild Seasons series. However, I couldn’t stand the pairings in the 2nd and 4th book. This time, I’m going with Harlow and Finn from Dirty Rowdy Thing. These two had no chemistry and I didn’t understand why they ever hooked up. They were just two completely different people.
Nope protagonist action/decision: A character decision that made you shake your head
Every single thing that Levana did was a huge wtf? I know that Ellyn felt the same way so I’m not alone.
Nope Genre: A genre you’ll never read
Nope Book Format: A book format you hate and avoid buying until it comes out in a different edition
I don’t really have one. I’m not the biggest fan of mass-market paperbacks but I will read them if I have to. Lol
Nope Trope: A trope that makes you go nope
I hate the lack of communication trope in romance. It’s such a simple fix and one that I don’t understand. Whoever decided to use this in romance books should be punched. It’s just completely dumb and isn’t realistic at all.
Nope Recommendation: A book recommendation that is constantly hyped and pushed at you that you simply refuse to read
This isn’t exactly a particular book but I have no interest in reading Colleen Hoover. I know that she’s a beloved romance author but I’ve heard she writes pretty terrible romances. I’d rather not read about some dumb alpha male and a sweet little innocent love interest. Lmao
Nope Cliche/Pet Peeve: A cliche or writing pet peeve that always makes you roll your eyes
Girl hate! Can’t stand it and never will.
Nope Love Interest: The love interest that’s not worthy of being one/a character you don’t think should have been a viable love interest
This is so bad but I don’t even remember this guy’s name. Regardless, I didn’t enjoy the love interest for Marisol. Personally, I didn’t feel any chemistry between them and I think it just happened to mirror her grandmother’s story. I know that was probably the point but those two just weren’t a good couple.
Nope Book: A book that shouldn’t have existed
As much as I love Christina Lauren, this book was just so unnecessary. This series should only have been a trilogy and stopped before getting to London’s story. She wasn’t a “main” player in any of the other stories so why give her a full-length novel? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Nope Villian: A scary villain/antagonist you would hate to cross and would make you run in the opposite direction
I have to go with Levana. She is SCARY and CRAZY. There is no telling what kind of ways she’d find to hurt you.
Nope Death: A character death that still haunts you
I don’t know if this one actually counts because I don’t think that we see the death on the page. However, I listened to it on audio and the emotion behind the narrator’s voice was so raw. Hearing about the death and grief is still something that I think about.
Nope Author: An author you have had a bad experience reading and have decided to quit
I’m going to have to say Britta Lundin. This book was just basically fanfiction but published as a novel. It’s so crazy to me that this even made it past an editor. Some of the scenes were just way TOO MUCH and I don’t think I can put myself through that again. Lmao
I know this is an older tag so I won’t be tagging anyone. If you want to do it though, feel free. 🙂

I have heard so many people say the same thing about 99 Percent Mine! So disappointing considering how much I loved the Hating Game.

TWK ending is also a big nope for me but it’s only because I thought it was too short. I compared the HC for TCP and TWK and TWK wasn’t as thick as TCP.

Thanks so much girl! ☺️ I’m glad you done this tag. I’ve been dying to read The Wicked King but I have a love-hate relationship with The Cruel Prince so we shall see.
