Hello friends and fellow book lovers! Usually, I’d be posting a review but the last book I read was The Wicked King and I don’t even have all my thoughts together. There was just SO MUCH and that review would be awful. I know you’re all probably getting sick of them but I’m doing another tag. I’m not feeling very creative yet so I apologize.
I think I’ve done this tag before but I wanted to give it another go. I was tagged by Jillian of Jillian The Bookish Butterfly. I found her via Top 5 Tuesday and I haven’t stopped loving her blog since. Please check her out if you haven’t! ❤
Books I Want To Read Tag
1. A book that you feel like you need to read because everyone talks about it.
Am I the last person on Earth who hasn’t read Six of Crows? Probably but I just can’t see myself getting into a fantasy series anytime soon. It took me a while to get into the Folk of the Air series and I’m just not a big fantasy reader. However, I do want to have this read before the TV series comes out on Netflix. Lol
2. A book that’s really long
It’s no secret that I love sports romances. However, I have yet to read anything by Mariana Zapata. Part of the reason why I’m holding back is the length. For romance books, these are really long books with this one clocking in at just under 500 pages. I’ve heard so many good things about From Lukov With Love though. Once I’m in a romantic mood again, I’ll try it.
3. A book you’ve owned/had on your TBR for too long.
I feel like I always talk about this book and I have yet to finish it. I’m not in any hurry to finish it either. Since Muhammad Ali passed away, I just don’t want it to end. I know that probably sounds silly but I admired him for a lot of different reasons. I just know it’s going to make me sad.
4. A book that is “required” reading.
I think this one is pretty obvious. Why wouldn’t I want to read a book that has the same name as me? 😛
5. A book that intimidates you.
I’ve never read anything by Roxane Gay and I know how beloved she is. I’ve been thinking about reading one of her books forever but have yet to pick them up. I know how much everyone loves her and I’m scared that I won’t love her. I mean I think I will but it’s just that little bit of fear.
6. A book that you think might be slow.
Kennedy Ryan is easily one of my favorite romance authors. As much as I loved her Grip series, I couldn’t get into her Hoops series. I read the first book and thought it was okay. It was an incredibly slow-burn romance and I’m afraid that Block Shot will be the same way. I don’t know if I can manage to read it without wanting to DNF. Lol
7. A book you need to be in the right mood for.
I tried to read A Duke By Default right after I got broken up with. That was the wrong time to try and read it. I couldn’t get into the story nor the romance. Instead, I think this is one I’m going to have to read in a few months. Romance just isn’t a genre that I see myself reading anytime soon.
8. A book you’re unsure if you will like.
I know Ellyn is probably going to yell at me for this answer. Lol, however, I’m super anxious to read anything by Anna-Marie McLemore. Her books are super hyped and none more than Wild Beauty. I’ve never read any magical realism that I know of so it’ll be my first forte into the genre, too!
I’m not going to tag anyone because this post ended up taking longer than I thought and I’m about to fall asleep. 😛
Am I truly the last person to read Six of Crows? Let me know in the comments!

I feel the same about Anna-Marie McLemore, part of me thinks I will love her books, the other part is afraid I will be disappointed..

You’re not the only one who hasn’t read Six of Crows, I haven’t read it either haha I wasn’t planning to either really, because I read Shadow and Bone and didn’t really enjoy it. I know both series happen at a different time, but in my mind, I didn’t see myself reading Six of Crows without reading the trilogy first. Recently however, I was convinced by a few people that it was okay, really, to read it without having finished the original trilogy and well … I ended up buying Six of Crows. When I’ll get to it, I don’t know, but I will!

I feel the same way because if everything is connected, won’t I get confused? I guess we’ll both have to see. Lol 😛

I was assured by a lot of people that it’s perfectly fine, so I’ll have to trust them! I’m curious to see how this all turns out, let me know when you read it I’d be curious to know what you thought!
