Books I Currently Have On Hold at the Library

Hello friends and fellow book lovers! It feels so weird to not be making a Top 5 Tuesday post but I’ve been trying to come up with some unique ideas. When I was talking to Ellyn, I threw this idea out to her and she said it sounded awesome. I rarely talk about my library but now that I’m on a book-buying ban, I’ve been using my library more and more.

Personally, my local library is pretty unsatisfactory. Instead, I got a library card for the Free Library of Philadelphia and it was free because I live in PA. Then I tried out Scribd and it was overpriced for being limited. To make up for that, I got a non-resident card for the Fairfax County. If you want to do the same, check out Kerri’s post.

With that being said, I’ve been putting holds on books like crazy. I won’t be talking about which books are from which library. Instead, I’ll just be talking about all the books I have on hold and ones I might put a hold on 🙂

1. Always Never Yours

The first book I have on hold is Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka. I’ve heard a lot of buzz about this book via Booktube and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Originally, I was going to buy it but I held off in case I didn’t love it as much as everyone else did.

I know it’s a contemporary and a Shakespeare retelling. Other than that, I’m pretty much clueless and I want to keep it that way. Lol

2. The Governess Game (Girl Meets Duke #2)

Right at the end of January, The Duchess Deal came off hold and I really loved it. It cemented my love for Tessa Dare and historical romance. Technically, I’ve only read 2 of her books but I loved them so much. There’s no way I couldn’t place a hold on the second book in this series as soon as possible.

I’ve heard this one isn’t as good as the first. However, I’m basically #trash for Tessa Dare now so I’ll read anything of hers. If I remember right, I have a few of her books on hold so be ready 😛

3. A Princess In Theory (Reluctant Royals #1)

Full disclosure: I have this book on my shelf but it’s a mass market paperback. I started to read it but I can’t handle small font. Instead, I put a hold on it at the library so I could read it on my Kindle. At first, it was a 5-week hold but now it just went to 8 weeks so I’m not sure what’s going on.

No matter, I’m really excited to read this. I’ve heard so many people talk about reading this for almost all of the February read-a-thons. I’m crossing my fingers that I love it as much as everyone else has.

4. A Night to Surrender (Spindle Cove #1)

As I’ve already mentioned, I have a lot of Tessa Dare on hold. This one is the first book in her Spindle Cove series and I’m pretty nervous. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how this is their least favorite book by her. Once again, I don’t know anything about it so maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

5. A Duke By Default (Reluctant Royals #2)

Surprise, surprise. I have another book by Alyssa Cole. Lol, are we sensing a theme with the books I have on hold? I’ve heard such good things about this series so obviously, I’ve placed a hold on all the books my libraries have. This is another book that I know nothing about but I’m still excited to finally get to it.

6. The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory

I’ve heard everyone talking about this book. Even though I didn’t love The Wedding Date, I really want to check this one out. I know this book follows a girl who is proposed to via the jumbotron and the guy who saves her from it. Personally, I think that premise sounds so cool and I can’t wait to see what happens with Carlos.

7. Say Yes To The Marquess (Castles Ever After #2)

Lol, I promise this is the last Tessa Dare book I have on hold. In December, I read Romancing the Duke and I really enjoyed it. There’s just something about her books that are addicting to me. I finally decided to put a hold on the sequel and the week is 13 weeks I think. At least I have some of their other books to give me my fix until this book is available 😛

8. The Vanishing Stair (Truly Devious #2)

The last and most recent book I put on hold is The Vanishing Stair. This is the sequel to Truly Devious and I’ve been anxious to see what happens next. After the ending of the first book, I have no idea what’s going to happen. This series is just so addicting and I love Maureen Johnson’s writing style. I’ll be waiting for a while but I’m excited to finally read this. 🙂

Those are all the books I currently have on hold at the library. Would you recommend any of the books I have on hold? Also what books do you have on hold at the library? 🙂

  1. So much Tessa Dare haha, I really like her books! I also really want to read Alyssa Cole’s books, but my library does not have really new books, so they don’t have it 😦
